Josh Elliott opened Autoplex in 2003, originally operating under the name Auto Trim of Denver. This Auto Trim of Denver location in Northglenn, CO served the new and used car dealerships in the Denver metro area with a specialized line of automotive trim accessories including window tint, leather interiors, sunroofs, spoilers, and automotive electronics. Over the years, Auto Trim of Denver continued to grow it's line of products and accessories and also opened it’s doors to retail customers. In 2011, the company received the prestigious, national award - "Restyler of the Year" from SEMA.

In 2012, Josh Elliott acquired Autoplex by Vanworks, a retail aftermarket truck accessory store that was a division of Vanworks, a company that had gained a great reputation since it opened it’s doors in 1978. Autoplex by Vanworks had 3 locations along the Northern Front Range, allowing the company to cover a wider geographical area. This acquisition also added a wide range of truck accessory products to the company’s product line. The demand for truck accessories and off-road gear was growing rapidly in Colorado at this time.

Josh continued to operate Auto Trim of Denver and Autoplex by Vanworks side-by-side until 2017 when the two companies merged under the name Autoplex Restyling Centers.
